Abstract

Obturator hernia is a relatively rare condition and seldom diagnosed preoperatively. We experienced three cases of strangulated obturator hernia in elderly female patients. The diagnosis was made preoperatively in all cases by abdominopelvic
computed
tomography scanning. It is recommended that obturator hernia as a cause of intestinal obstruction in elderly patients be ruled out by CT scanning.
